Cochrane Place is a nice accommodation on the outskirts of Kurseong. If you drive towards Kurseong through the Pankhabari Road, You will meet Cochrane place on your left just after crossing the famous Makaibari Tea estate and just before reaching the Kurseong main town. An old British Colonial house has been renovated to create this gem.
All the rooms of this hotel provides excellent views of the surrounding mountain range. Inside, the hotel has been tastefully decorated keeping in mind the two major attractions of the region, the Darjeeling Tea and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR).
Stones, logs and cast iron has been sparingly used in the decor. The furnishing in the rooms include antique tables and original British era photographs painstakingly collected by the owners from throughout the hills. Overall the Raj ambiance is unmistakable at Cochrane place.
